WE HAVE PLEASURE IN PRESENTING ALL THE FA CUP ACTION FROM YESTERDAY (28/01/2024), WHICH EMBODIED ALL THE TWISTS AND SURPRISES WHICH WE EXPECT FROM THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME! IN THE NEWPORT COUNTY VS MANCHESTER UNITED GAME, THERE WERE SOME GLORIOUS GOALS BY BRUNO FERNANDES AT 7 MINS., KOBBIE MAINOO AT 13 MINS., ANTONY AT 68 MINS., RASMUS HOJLUND AT 90 +4 MINS., FOR MANCHESTER UNITED, AND A COUPLE OF CORKERS FROM BRYN MORRIS FOR NEWPORT COUNTY AT 36 MINS., AND WILL EVANS AT 47 MINS., CULMINATING IN A SIX-GOAL THRILLER, AND A 4 – 2 WIN TO MANCHESTER UNITED!

THE WATFORD GAME WAS ALSO EXCITING WITH AN EARLY GOAL BY MATHEUS MARTINS AT 5 MINS. FOR WATFORD, SPARKING AN ALL-ACTION, THRILLING, BUT AWFULLY LONG WAIT IN-BETWEEN FOR THE NEXT GOAL, WHICH EVENTUALLY CAME AT 89 MINS. FROM SOUTHAMPTON’S STUART ARMSTRONG, MEANING A 1 – 1 DRAW AND THAT AN EMIRATES FA CUP FOURTH-ROUND REPLAY WILL BE CONVENED IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS.

THE LIVERPOOL VS NORWICH CITY WAS A SPECTACLE!  WITH GOAL AFTER GOAL FROM LIVERPOOL – ONE FROM CURTIS JONES AT 16 MINS., ANOTHER FROM DARWIN NUNES AT 28 MINS., THEN DIOGO JOTA AT 53 MINS., VIRGIL VAN DIJK AT 63 MINS., AND A SWEET FINISHER FROM RYAN GRAVENBERCH AT 90 +5 MINS., PROVING THAT NOTHING WAS GOING TO HOLD THEM BACK IN THIS FA CUP (EVEN THE PROSPECT OF THEIR BELOVED MANAGER JURGEN KLOPP’S RETIREMENT SEEMINGLY SPURRING THEM ON EVEN MORE TO PLAY WELL FOR HIM. JURGEN, QUITE RIGHTLY, LOOKED VERY PROUD.) NORWICH CITY’S BEN GIBSON AND BORJA SAINZ ALSO SCORED TWO BRILLIANT GOALS AT 22 MINS, AND 69 MINS. RESPECTIVELY.  NORWICH PUT IN A VALIANT PERFORMANCE.

THIS WAS A BIT OF A SHAME YESTERDAY, WHERE BOTH MANAGER’S AGREED THAT THERE WAS ENORMOUS RESPECT BETWEEN THEMSELVES AND THEIR TEAMS, BUT SOME DISRUPTION IN THE CROWD STOPPED PLAY FOR A WHILE.  EVENTUALLY, THINGS WERE RESOLVED, AND A 2 – 0 WIN FOR WOLVES WAS CLOCKED UP, WITH GOALS FROM PEDRO NETO (38 MINS.) AND MATHEUS CUNHA (78 MINS.) FOR WOLVES, AND A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO THE ARGEY-BARGEY IN THE CROWD PENDING.
