Queen Elizabeth Has Today Sent A Message Of Condolence To The People Of New Zealand After The Tragic Terror Attacks In Two Mosques In Christchurch, New Zealand. The Queen Is New Zealand’s Monarch And The Head Of The Commonwealth.

 

The Queen said she was “deeply saddened” by the news, and paid tribute to the emergency services.

The full message read as follows:-

“I have been deeply saddened by the appalling events in Christchurch today. Prince Philip and I send our condolences to the families and friends of those have lost their lives. I also pay tribute to the emergency services and volunteers who are providing support to those who have been injured. At this tragic time, my thoughts and prayers are with all New Zealanders.

In addition to condolences from The Queen and Prince Philip, condolences have also been sent from British PM Theresa May and from many other leaders from around the Country and across the World.

British PM Theresa May said “On behalf of the UK, my deepest condolences to the people of New Zealand after the horrifying terrorist attack in Christchurch. My thoughts are with all of those affected by this sickening act of violence.”

U.S. President Donald Trump said “My warmest sympathy and best wishes goes out to the people of New Zealand after the horrible massacre in the Mosques. 49 innocent people have so senselessly died, with so many more seriously injured. The U.S. stands by New Zealand for anything we can do. God bless all!”

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed sorrow over the “citizens who were attacked and murdered out of racist hatred” in attacks on the mosques. She went on to say “We stand together against such acts of terrorism, adding that the victims had been doing nothing more than peacefully praying in their mosque.”

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the incident was “beyond awful” and called Muslims a “valued part of Scottish society.” She went on to say “Innocent people being murdered as they worship is horrific and heartbreaking. My thoughts and solidarity are with New Zealand’s Muslim Community and all of it’s people on this dark day.”

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said his Country stood with New Zealand after the tragic attack. “We stand here and condemn, absolutely, the attack that occurred today by an extremist, right-wing, violent terrorist.” He went on to say, “We are not just allies, we are not just partners, we are family. It is such a sad and devastating reminder of the evil that can be ever present about us.”
