A former student at University of St Andrews has recalled the famous moment when Prince William first saw Catherine, Princess of Wales on the catwalk during a university fashion show. Charlie Moretti, who organised the student-run “DONT WALK” charity fashion show in 2002, described how Catherine auditioned like every other student and underwent modelling training before taking part in the show.During the event, Catherine walked the runway in a now-famous sheer lace dress designed by student Charlotte Todd. According to Moretti, the dress itself was not considered special at the time and was simply chosen from some select outfits.The moment later became widely known as the point when William reportedly first took notice of Catherine. The pair, who met while studying at St Andrews, later married in 2011.Students at the university continue to honour the moment through the annual “DONT WALK” charity fashion show, even recreating the iconic dress in recent editions of the event.
